I did not get a chance to look at all the documents, so I will be going back to the library on Saturday. I also went to the library at Saint Peter's College, but I did not find that much except for a book called Jersey City: A City in Socio-Economic and Political Change. This secondary source will be quite valuable to me in my research. Goodwin tells the interesting story of First Street, where a bunch of ragtag artists decided to take over an old tobacco factory on the industrial outskirts of the New York region in Jersey City, New Jersey. These same artists soon found themselves caught amid a changing and gentrifying city.   I bought this book because I thought it would be a quirky, risky memoir, but it turned out to be a book on Jersey City's political and overall history. Bit of a snooze-fest if you ask me. Some of the content was funny, but most pages I ended up skimming and eventually threw in the towel completely/5. The Political Machine of Frank Hague of Jersey City, New Jersey Frank Hague came from a squalid Irish-immigrant slum area of Jersey City called the Horseshoe. The Irish had come to the area as workers for building the railroad lines that linked New York City with the rest of the country and settled there after the railroads were completed.
